OxytocinINDICATION
Stimulation of uterine contractions and milk let-down in livestock. Indicated for facilitating parturition when the cervix is fully dilated, promoting postpartum uterine involution and expulsion of retained placenta, controlling postpartum haemorrhage, and supporting milk let-down in agalactia or during mastitis treatment.DOSAGE
Administration: Deep Intramuscular (IM) preferred; Subcutaneous (SC) or slow Intravenous (IV) with adjusted dose.

Ewe, Goat, Sow: 0.2–1 ml (2–10 IU)
Mare: 1–4 ml (10–40 IU)
Cow (non-mastitis): 1–4 ml (10–40 IU)
Cow (mastitis adjunct): 1st dose 8 ml (up to 80 IU); repeat 2 ml (20 IU), 2–3 times/dayWITHDRAWAL PERIODS: None
CONTRAINDICATION
Confirm full cervical dilation before use for parturition to avoid foetal death or uterine rupture.
Do not use in obstructive dystocia.
Excessive doses may cause uncoordinated uterine contractions, delaying parturition, especially in multiple pregnancies.
Daily doses ≥100 IU for mastitis may affect the estrous cycle.
Avoid use if the animal is stressed, as adrenaline reduces oxytocin effectiveness on the uterus or mammary gland. -
